Learn something NEW this fall! Our Library of Things is available for lending!

The Library staff are always looking for ways for our patrons to learn new things and a new collection can help with that: our ‘Library of Things’!

The Library of Things’ collection offers Morristown and Morris Township residents an opportunity to explore a new hobby or try something new before purchasing the equipment, or otherwise wouldn’t have the space to keep.

Want to try a sewing project, or check for buried treasure in and around town? Invite friends over for an outdoor film screening, or perhaps challenge your family to Frisbee golf in the back yard, or study the planets and constellations through a telescope? Now you can borrow the gear to do this and more!

We obtained a series of ‘Things’ for patrons to borrow and hope to build upon it in the future.  We have a sewing machine, a telescope, a ukulele, binoculars, a mobile LED movie projector, a metal detector, a digital microscope and even a Frisbee golf set.

For each ‘Thing’, patrons borrow an entire kit to try out for themselves: often a device, any accessories and instructions all within a portable bag. The items can be borrowed for 14 days, but are not renewable and these items cannot be placed in the book drop.

To check out any of these new great offerings just visit the Circulation Desk, pick up something to expand your learning and return it to the Circ desk within 14 days. Our staff can provide any additional details and procedures. Discover a new hobby at the Library!
