The Declaration of Independence: The Whole Story

Celebrate the 4th of July holiday by learning about its reason for being – The Declaration of Independence! The Declaration is our nation’s “birth certificate” and speaker Joel Farkas will tell us all about it, from conception to celebration. There is a whole lot of history in this document with roots in the Magna Carta, the English Bill of Rights, the French and Indian War and many more events. (Fasten your saddles and seat belts folks, this is going to be quite a ride!)

Our Presenter: Joel Farkas is a popular lecturer on historical topics through Lifelong Learning institutes at Rutgers and Fairleigh Dickinson. He is a docent at Washington’s Headquarters in Morristown and is a Recipient of the National Park Service Centennial Volunteer Challenge Award.
