Looking to practice your chess skills? Looking for some friendly competition? Then come to the Morristown & Morris Township Library's Chess Club! Meetings will be held the 3rd Thursday of every month on the Library lawn (or in the Gallery if it rains). Please note this is not a class. All players are expected to know how to play on their own. All skill levels welcome. Please bring your own chess set and time clock.

Saturday Friends Book Sale

Held outside by the entrance on South Street, weather permitting.  In the event of poor weather and during the winter months, the book sale will be held on the second floor of the library, in the F.M. Kirby Gallery. The book sale offers a large selection of paperback and hardcover books. All proceeds benefit the library.

Bilingual Yoga: Outdoors/Yoga Bilingüe: Afuera

With busy schedules our bodies need deep rest and replenishment. Restorative yoga helps to regulate the nervous system and promote relaxation through gentle floor movement followed by longer-held static poses. Many restorative yoga postures are supported by yoga blocks and bolsters, which can be easily substituted with common household items such as books, pillows, and blankets. Our “Pride Month Film Series” is back! The Library has been celebrating LGBTQ+ diversity and lives through our annual “Pride Month Film Series,” now in its sixth year. Outdoor Qigong

Qigong is a traditional Chinese mindful exercise system for cultivating and strengthening the body’s vital energy. Also known as “Chinese Yoga,” Qigong consists of a series of slow-flowing movements, which gently stretch muscles, tendons and ligaments. Similar to Tai Chi, these low-impact exercises heighten awareness of the mind-body-breath connection. Meditation and visualization are also a part of Qigong practice. Morning Yoga: Outdoors

Join us for some much-needed relaxation and gentle exercise! We will be holding our Thursday morning yoga classes outside on the Library’s side lawn. All ability levels from beginner to advanced are welcome, no sign-up is necessary. Please bring your own yoga mat and equipment, none will be provided.
