Book Groups

The Morristown & Morris Township Library is proud to host both in-person and online book clubs covering a wide range of interests throughout the month. We list all book titles selected on our events calendar. If a book for a book club meeting is not listed yet, check back closer to the event date!

Registration is not required for any in-person book clubs. We set copies of book club books aside at our Circulation Desk under the name of the book club. They are often available 2 weeks before the book club date, but you can always call ahead and ask if the book club books are here by calling our Circulation Department at 973-538-6161.

Online book clubs will have (ZOOM) in their titles. To join these clubs, email morristownreaders@mmt.mainlib.org with the title of the book club you’re interested in as the subject line.

For all formats of book club, you may attend any meetings you wish. Maybe you are only interested in one title and thus only attend one meeting. Or maybe you read the book a while ago and want to refresh your memory, or you didn’t finish reading the book, or you didn’t like the book… No matter how you want to be a part of the discussion, we want you here!

NEW! Booked on Reality: a Non-Fiction Book Club – second Wednesday of the month

“Booked on Reality” is a new non-fiction book club aimed at readers who love exploring history, science, memoirs and more through engaging conversation. We will meet on the second Wednesday of every month in the F.M. Kirby Gallery. Ask for a reserved copy at the Circulation Desk. Refreshments will be provided!

The Seekers – first Wednesday of the month

Join us on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. to discuss all things related to spirituality, self-help, motivation, folklore and inspiration. All are welcome at this informal book club. Visit our events calendar for current books we are reading. We look forward to you joining us!

Morning Book Club - second Thursday of the month

The Morning Book Club meets on the second Thursday of every month at 10:00 a.m. in the upstairs Treasure Room. We read a variety of genres: historical fiction, bestsellers, mysteries and biographies. Evening Book Club - third Tuesday of the month

The Evening Book Club meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the upstairs Treasure Room. We read a variety of genres: historical fiction, bestsellers, mysteries and biographies. (ZOOM) Book Lovers' Circle - first Thursday of the month

Do you have a passion for reading and books? Come to our Book Lover's Circle on the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. You will hear about the latest books at the Library, receive a new reading list and have a chance to share your own favorites, old and new. (ZOOM) Virtual Classics Book Club - second Thursday of the month

Our Virtual Classics Book Club meets via Zoom on the second Thursday of every other month at 7:00 p.m. The Virtual Classics Book Club is open to one and all, whether you are a Morristown or Morris Township resident or not.
