“Film Noir” is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish Hollywood black & white crime dramas of the 1940s to ’50s, particularly those that emphasize toughness, cynicism, amorality, & sex. In more recent decades the Film Noir tradition was paid tribute to in the movies shown in this Modern Film Noir series.
