Join us for a Zoom lecture about the history of Black Art in our culture. Throughout the history of our country from slavery to the Harlem Renaissance to the ongoing struggle for social justice, Black artists have used artistic expression as a means to explore the intricacies of Blackness and illustrate the lived experience of Black people in America.
In this program we will explore the history of Black art past and present, and examine the powerful ideas and messages behind various artworks.
Our program is cosponsored by Main Libraries and presented by Confetti, a company specialist in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. For the Zoom code to this program, please email marylynn.becza@mmt.mainlib.org.
