There are many reasons why Rome is the most visited city in the world!
Join us as travel buff Mark Rochkind presents a travelogue of his recent visit to the Eternal City. A visual delight, Mark will present many original photographs and comment on the most visited sites of art, architecture, and cuisine. Through art and architecture, he will introduce some of the history of Rome and a few personages who contributed importantly to its grandeur.
Mark will suggest some not-to-be-missed travel opportunities and ways to make a visit to Rome and its environs a pleasant adventure. This is an in-person program, refreshments will be served.
Our presenter: Mark Rochkind is a graduate of NYC’s Stuyvesant High School, the University of Rochester, & Cal Berkeley where he earned a PhD in Chemistry. He was a research scientist and technical manager at Bell Laboratories, and an R&D Executive at Philips Electronics, and AT&T. Mark served as a publicly elected member, financial officer, and President of the Bernards Twp. Board of Education. He was Program Chair & President of the Louis August Jonas Foundation (2004-2010). In 2005, Mark and his wife created the Rochkind Wagner Foundation active principally in education. He is a member of the Morristown & Morris Township Library Finance Committee. Mark and his wife Pat are equestrians and other interests include wine, music, art, and travel. Mark rides a Vespa, is a bird watcher, and maintains a passion for single malt scotch!
