In “The Money Kings”, Dan Schulman traces the origin of some of the largest investment banks in the world—Goldman Sachs, Kuhn Loeb, Lehman Brothers, and J. & W. Seligman & Co. He chronicles the paths of those who led these companies to Wall Street dominance, as they navigated the antisemitic attitudes of the Gilded Age, the complexities of the Civil War and World War I, and the Zionist movement. Dan shows how their firms helped transform the USA into a financial superpower and explains how they would help shape the destiny of millions of Eastern European Jews who came to America in the early 1900s.

Our Presenter: Dan Schulman’s work has appeared in the Boston Globe, Politico, Vanity Fair, the Washington Post, & Mother Jones, where he is the magazine’s deputy Washington, DC bureau chief. His first book, “Sons of Wichita”, is a biography of the Koch brothers.
