Many people have had a dream of giving up the drudgery of everyday life and setting off on a fantastic and seemingly impossible adventure. After serving 7 years in the Army and working for 28 years in the pharmaceutical industry, Larry Walsh stepped away from corporate life and cycled into the heart of America to fulfill his lifelong dream of riding across the country. But Walsh didn’t stop there. He also entered the 4,200-mile TransAmerica Bike Race from Oregon to Virginia, a unique and challenging journey. Join us to hear Walsh share his story of self-discovery and resolve, what he learned on the road, and his experience writing his first book, “Suit to Saddle: Cycling to Self-Discovery on the Southern Tier” in which he recounts his 3,120-mile ride from southern California to Florida from September to November 2018.
