From Page to Screen Book & Movie Club: “The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman”

Join us via Zoom on Wednesday, February 22 at 7 PM, for the “From Page to Screen” book and movie discussion series. Ernest J. Gaines’ classic novel “The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman” was published in 1971 and the film version starring Cicely Tyson was made in 1974 and won 9 Emmy awards. The book and film are the fictional account of a formerly enslaved woman whose story encompasses the Civil War, Reconstruction, Jim Crow and the Civil Rights movement.
