Introducing our new “Real-to-Reel Documentary Film Club”! This new film discussion club will meet quarterly to discuss entertaining and thought-provoking documentaries on a variety of subjects. The films will be announced beforehand to give you time to watch the film at your convenience, and will be available FREE to Morristown & Morris Township cardholders through the Library’s subscription to Kanopy, a movie streaming platform (https://mmt.kanopy.com/).
Our first “Real-to-Reel” meeting will be Wednesday, July 28 at 7 PM ,and continuing our Pride Month theme, we will be discussing “The Circle.” This 2014 docu-drama from Switzerland tells the story of Ernst Ostertag and Röbi Rapp, two members of a social network of gay men in Zurich during the 1950’s known as “Der Kreis” (the Circle). The film intersperses current interviews with the two men with dramatizations of events from the ’50’s and ’60’s.
How do you attend online, you may ask? We use Zoom for our meetings, which can be used via telephone or through the Zoom app, which you can download from their website or from your preferred devices App store.
Access to the program, via telephone or the app, requires an access code. Please email james.collins@mmt.mainlib.org using “Real-to-Reel” in the Subject Line to receive the access details for this meeting. (Please include your full name and town of residence in your message.) If you have difficulty downloading the app, you can email our reference desk for help at info@jfpl.org.
The “Real-to-Reel” discussion group is open to one and all, whether you are a Morristown or Morris Township resident or not. We look forward to your joining us! P.S. Didn’t get a chance to finish or watch the documentary before our meeting? No problem! Join us anyway!
