Join Main libraries on Zoom for a series presented by Sylvia Laudien-Meo, a local NJ art historian and museum educator. Laudien-Meo has been an instructor at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Florham Park and is a popular freelance speaker and tour guide. This is a series of 3 Zoom lectures and each has its own code. Stanford White was the most fashionable New York architect of the “American Renaissance,” designing a variety of NYC buildings, including Judson Memorial Church, Bronx Community College, the Washington Arch and the sadly demolished old Madison Square Garden and magnificent Herald Building. On our virtual tour, we will visit his most significant designs and consider their place in the history of New York: how they celebrated architectural styles of the past while creating spaces for a new twentieth century American lifestyle.
