You miss traveling, WE miss traveling! So, in honor of St. Patrick’s Day this month, let’s visit Ireland together… virtually, of course! Librarians and travel enthusiasts Louis and Jim are your tour guides for tonight and they invite you to share their pre-pandemic travels in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. You’ll get to marvel at magnificent natural wonders like the Cliffs of Moher and the Giant’s Causeway; take a ferry to the windswept and atmospheric Aran Islands; tour castles and abbeys galore, including kissing the Blarney Stone (of course!); take in some great local theatre and hear some fantastic folk music; visit the original “Tara” and other prehistoric and Medieval locales; learn about “The Troubles” with a Belfast local; and share some great “craic” and company (but sorry, no Guinness).

How to travel with us virtually to Ireland? We are hosting this event through Zoom, which you can access on a smartphone, online through most mobile devices, or on an internet-connected computer. For access info, please email Louis.Munoz@mmt.mainlib.org, and include your first and last name and town of residence to receive the access code and link to the meeting, and include “Ireland” in the subject line. (If you have difficulty downloading the app, you can email our reference desk for help at info@jfpl.org.)

See you at the airport!
