The Library is pleased to announce our 3rd Annual “Pride Month Film Series” for 2019. Airing Thursday nights this June (June 6, 13, 20, and 27) at 7pm, these four films from the U.S. and overseas celebrate the spectrum and diversity of the LGBTQ+ experience and the 50th anniversary of the historic Stonewall Uprising.

Our third movie, on Thursday, June 20, will be The Happy Prince from the U.K. Written, directed by, and starring acclaimed actor and writer Rupert Everett, and filled with a veritable Who’s Who of British actors, such as Colin Firth, Emily Watson, and Tom Wilkinson, the movie movingly tells the largely untold story of the last days in the tragic times of Oscar Wilde, a person who observes his own failure with ironic distance and regards the difficulties that beset his life with detachment and humor. (U.K., 2018, 1:45, Rated R)

Light refreshments will be served.
